LAZARUS III

images from my latest illustrated book in Barcelona-Spain from a while ago. (Lazarillo de Tormes) As usual, for each project I search for a new style without repeating myself more than twice.
I include a video explaining the specific process for this book. I used cheap sketch paper to draw and obtain a somewhat cut watercolor (schmincke). It is what was best suited for the next step: the scan. Here, I reduced the color spectrum to 50% and the result was a scan similar to a screen print. Then I duplicated that scan with layer modes in PS for saturating, added the characters drawn and painted separately on the same sketch paper and finally added cast shadows, ambient shadows and lighting playing with Color Lookup.
