TREASURE ISLAND I

TREASURE ISLAND by RL Stevenson - one of the books I illustrated with ink, using the "pinceau seche" or dry brush technique. Published in Spain. It consists of moistening the brush with fresh ink and then discharging the liquid onto a piece of paper, leaving it barely damp. Then it is inked (previously drawn strokes with a soft pencil) on a rough or coarse paper, so that the inking reveals a slightly imprecise, sketch-like appearance. You can ink with the brush on the paper at 45º or 20º (almost horizontal) to obtain different graphic qualities.
For the style of this book I used my technique of rhythmic chosen hatching to create the corporeal volumes and define the light environments in the background
